The eradication of poverty is a task that we cannot achieve alone. Private businesses play a vital role in offering employment, maintaining sustainable practices and giving back to their communities. In fact, UTPMP’s relies heavily on corporate support; some companies support us financially, while others donate materials or services or contribute teams of volunteers. Current collaborators include:
- Inter-American Development Bank: Through the Multi Lateral Investment Fund in the IADB, Un Techo Para Mi Pais was awarded a grant for the implementation of low income populations’ integration into the productive sector. The objective of this project is to promote and facilitate the economic integration of slum dwellers in Argentina, Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.
- CHEVRON: Chevron has joined our mission of eradicating extreme poverty in Latin America by committing to campaign with their clients throughout Texaco Gas Stations in Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. Chevron and it’s Texaco subsidiaries donate a specific amount per gallon. The donations are used towards the construction of transitional homes in the respective countries.
- LAN: LAN Airlines has joined Un Techo Para Mi Pais since 2006 as a major contributor and partner. They have partnered with Un Techo Para Chile by working hand in hand with corporate employees and the families in the slum Los Aromos. They have also built transitional houses with their employees in Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Chile. In addition, LAN contributes towards the exchange of culture and experiences of different youth volunteers throughout Latin America by donating airline tickets to travel between UTPMP countries.
- DELOITTE: Deloitte is a major pro-bono partner who provides auditing of all of our financial statements and annual reports, contributing towards more efficient management of our assets and assuring transparency throughout our operations.
- DAKAR: Un Techo Para Mi Pais was the non profit sponsor of the 2009 Dakar Series, receiving a donation on behalf of Amaury Sports Organisation (ASO) for the construction of transitional homes in both Chile and Argentina. Dakar sponsors and pilots also contributed to this initiative, promoting social responsibility during the race. The partnership will be renewed for the 2010 Dakar Series.
